JEOL detects carcinogen asbestos in materials from buildings in Ukraine

JEOL Ltd. detected a carcinogen (asbestos) from the materials in Ukrainian buildings destroyed in a Russian attack.
Material from Ukrainian building, with long, thin asbestos fibers at the tips of the arrows (observed with JEM-2100Plus)
Samples of building material were imported from Ukraine with special permission and were analyzed by using two types of JEOL electron microscopes. As a result, chrysotile (white asbestos) was detected in all of the samples.

JEOL will continue to analyze asbestos.
