Matrix-assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometer (MALDI-TOFMS) has been used in the biochemistry field for polymer compounds such as protein. However, the applications are expanding now because of the high mass resolving power of MALDI-TOFMS. They include evaluation of complex polymer material such as synthetic polymer, analysis of low molecular compounds such as medical products, and mass imaging which is to visualize the distribution of target compounds.
