Introduction to solid-state NMR: half-integer quadrupolar nuclei

This is an introductory seminar on solid-state NMR especially focusing on half-integer quadrupolar nuclei including 11B, 23Na, 27Al, etc.
First, we will briefly discuss what is half-integer quadrupolar nuclei and their characteristic properties.
Next, we focus on experimental aspects including hard pulse and soft pulse.
Finally, sensitivity enhancement methods will be introduced.

Important note: we will not discuss MQMAS which is very important technique to obtain high-resolution spectra of half-integer quadrupolar nuclei.
We will arrange follow-up webinar to cover this aspect.
The current talk covers basic aspects which are important to understand MQMAS experiments.
