Overview
For the past two decades, JEOL has steadily advanced GCxGC (comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography) applications. In 2005, our first-generation GC-TOFMS—the JMS-T100GC AccuTOF™ GC—set a milestone by enabling accurate-mass measurements for GCxGC-separated components, achieving 5,000 mass resolution with acquisition speed at 25 spectra per second.
Today, our seventh-generation GC-TOFMS, the JMS-T2000GC AccuTOF™ GC-Alpha 2.0, showcases the dramatic technology gains made since then, delivering 30,000 mass resolution at 50 spectra per second. Further strengthening GCxGC workflows, msFineAnalysis AI Ver. 3 (released August 2025) brings JEOL’s distinctive AI Structural Analysis capability to GCxGC data.
This Applications Notebook highlights a broad range of applications—spanning petroleum and petrochemicals, food, flavor and fragrance, and materials and chemical analysis—acquired using JEOL’s AccuTOF™ GC series of time-of-flight mass spectrometers combined with GCxGC.
