Tips for EPMA analysis - How to display an intensity map as a concentration map
Release Date: 2026/09/10
EPMA color map analysis enables the investigation of elemental distributions from microscopic regions to wide areas and displays the results as color images. Because the acquired data consist of digital values for each pixel, even subtle concentration differences can be visualized by adjusting the display levels. Furthermore, by converting X‑ray intensities into concentration values, quantitative treatment and data analysis become possible.
On the other hand, several precautions are required to obtain reliable analytical results.
In particular, color‑map data can be misleading, and it is often difficult to notice when incorrect data have been obtained.
This seminar explains important considerations for EPMA color‑map analysis, with a focus on concentration display.
This seminar will be delivered online in an on-demand format, available for a limited time. Enjoy the flexibility to view the content anytime, anywhere during the designated period.
