Operando Battery Probe

Operando Battery Probe

Operando NMR observation of batteries during charge and discharge

In the field of battery material development, NMR spectroscopy is a vital tool for the direct observation of Li and Na nuclei, providing detailed information on local structures and reaction processes. Our operando battery NMR probes allow for the real-time monitoring of structural changes during charge-discharge cycles, offering valuable insights into the electrochemical behavior of materials under actual operating conditions.

Features

Operando NMR cell is used for the measurement

Operando NMR cell

This NMR cell uses highly airtight ceramic components, making it suitable for handling air-sensitive (anaerobic) samples. It can be used with both liquid electrolytes and solid electrolyte samples. In addition, it enables the application of high confining pressure, making it suitable for all-solid-state batteries.
Joint Development with Prof. Goto, Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST)

The sample angle can be changed in four steps: 0°, 30°, 60°, and 90°

In-situ/Operando NMR cell allows you to change the cell angle from the standard 0° to 30°, 60°, and 90°. Changing the sample’s angle relative to the magnetic field is useful for obtaining orientation information and identifying signals.
